Weekend sounds

Chocking some more Block down at The Egg on Friday with Bok Bok and Manara, courtesy of Observer cover star JP. Friday also features, excitingly, a performance from Pres T - a fans' favourite whose live appearances are all too rare. 'This Likkle Yout' and 'Large Way' are two largely unrecognised classics - President has that same kind of rhythmically flatlining delivery that has seen Trim hailed as a poet-messiah.

Pres T - Large Way (Sendspace)

He makes other MCs look like toasted ham and cheese, apparently.

Meanwhile the Heatwave boys have a new night on in Stokey called Immediate Sounds, which should to be the usual upbeat party vibes judging by previous Heatwave raves. If you don't know what to expect, a preview mix that features everyone from El-B to Shabba to Paleface ought to sort you out. Skanking ting!

In other news, who else read that there's a Sidewinder planned for LONDON in December??? Let's hope Sidewinder management are preparing the mountains of paperwork they will have to do for the Met already - and if you don't know why it counts as BIG NEWS that a substantial grime rave is being planned for London, then you obviously haven't read Woofah 2 yet, in which case you need to get it before it's too late.

Also, FWD hosts a Pay As U Go reunion in August?!?! Some retro thrills right there. I seem to remember the words Spyro and Mac 10 being mentioned in close proximity on the flyer too.
